February 6, 2013

            Change in by-laws
                        Eliminate 2 hours outside community service for active members
                        Submission of change to President
                        Motion to change by-laws by Thomas Cable, Active Member 
                        Motion Seconded by, Joshua Pettit, Active Member
                        Moved into debate
                                    Recommendation by Thomas to ensure the change in by-laws                                 included, adding a stipulation for Active Members running for office                                   be required to show proof of a minimum of 2 hours outside                                 community service, in order to run for any office.
                                    Chynna accepts recommendation as friendly to her proposal.
                        Call for any additional debate.
                                    No additional debate.         
                        President read motion as proposed by Chynna:
                                    “strike the section of by-laws regarding Active Membership to                                    exclude the current 2 hours of outside community service                             requirements as the bylaws read now.”
                                    “to include 2 hours of community service to be presented by any                              Active Member seeking election to office of Stonewall QSA.”

January 30, 2013
I.                   Meeting called to order: 5:30 PM by President Luis Loya
II.                Officer Reports:

4.      Treasurer: Currently no one is position.
5.      Historian: None
III.             Interesting Information:
1.      Dirty Girl Mud Run (Contact Jeanette if interested).
Only females may enter, however anyone can volunteer.

2.      The Azure Cherry Gallery and Boutique Opening on Lohman 6:00PM to 12:00AM,
3.      Vagina Monologues two days, talk to Rose for more information.
4.      Queer Choir started, talk to Jackie for more information.
5.      Japan Club-pre Valentine’s Sale the 12th of February
6.      Japan Club-Board Game Night Tuesday’s at 7:00 PM
7.      Student Health Organization -1 Billion Strong Event Valentine’s Day.  
A lot of people going up to A Mountain, it is for sexual awareness.
8.      Fundraising Committee, talk to Jessica for more information.
Meetings are on Friday’s, first meeting is next Friday February 8th.
Location: Second Floor Corbett right in front of ASNMSU, 4:30PM.
IV.             Old Business:
1.      Change in By-Laws.
Change of requirements for member community service hours.
In order to vote with the club, you must be considered an active member, there is a list that Rose has, talk to her for more information, especially if there are any conflicting matters.
2.      Building of Community Garden.
Currently still in the air, but coming into being.
Various clubs and organizations may be interested in helping.
V.                New Business:
1.      Club Rush next week February 7, 2013. 10:00AM to 2:00PM.
2.      Monday February 4, 2013, Fox’s Pizza Night 6:00PM.
Location: 1340 E Lohman Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88001
3.      Upcoming event, Lecture Series (Series of Speakers over Sexual related things) talked about.
Various Lectures, also if you have a professor that would like to speak, contact Lois for more information.
Still pending for approval, paperwork will be filled out soon and sent to Campus Activities.
Events will likely take place at 6:00PM but exact time and days are not set yet.
4.      April Event- 1 Girl 5 Gays.
Date not currently set; contact Lois if you have more questions about the event.
Suggestions for questions will be taken, submit them to the officers, Facebook, or via the SGDRC.

November 7, 2012
I.                   Meeting called to order: 5:12 PM by President Lois Loya
II.                Officer Reports:
1.      President:
a.       GLTBQ Center having a Self Defensive Course November 15th.
b.      Cooking Program going on in the Garcia Kitchen, food from all over the world.  In A Patio. 
2.      Vice President: “The Rose Report”
a.       Tomorrow Thursday November 8th, meeting at the SGDRC to help Rose and Thomas with finalizing the new Logo.  From 3:30 to 5:00 PM.  All members of the PR Committee come.
3.      Secretary:
a.       None.
4.      Treasurer:
a.       None.
5.      Historian:
a.       None.
III.             Interesting Information:
1.      Butch Ball (Lips Lounge) Talk to Jackie.
2.      Watching Debs at Jackie’s House (Event will be created on Facebook) on Sunday at 8:00 PM.
3.      PHSO Showing Jim in Bold Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the Health and Social Services Building, room 101.
4.      National Diabetes Day next Wednesday November 14th.
5.      Stop the Bullying at Hurricane Alley 21 and up only, next week.  $3.00 donation to get in. Starts at 9:00 PM.
6.      Auditions for Vagina Monologues next week in Hardman Hall on Wednesday and Thursday at 6:00 PM.
7.      New States now allow Same Sex Marriage, and the First Openly Gay Senator appointed. 
IV.             Old Business:
1.      Day of the Dead Alter went well.
V.                New Business:
1.      Next Thursday is when Trans-Awareness day will be held.
2.      Possible Volunteer opportunity, talk to Lois the event is in El Paso.
3.      Two weeks from now is Thanksgiving.
4.      Have a potluck at the next meeting, bring whatever. J  Sign-up Sheet (or just bring something).
5.      Last Meeting November 28, 2012 (no meeting for finals week).
6.      Possible White Elephant event November 28, 2012.
7.      Tomorrow Thursday November 8th, meeting at the SGDRC to help Rose and Thomas with finalizing the new Logo.  From 3:30 to 5:00 PM.  All members of the PR Committee come.
8.      White Sands Field Trip Saturday Meeting at the Barnes and Noble Parking Lot.  Leaving at 2:00 PM and returning sometime in the evening (car-pooling).

3.      Talk To Jessica P. for information on getting more volunteer hours.

5.      Day of the Dead Event talk to Jeanette, meeting at around 4:00 on campus and setting up the alter around 4:30 in Mesilla.

III.             Interesting Information:
1.      Trans-Awareness Group Meeting at 3:00 PM on Friday October 24, 2012 at the Sexual and Gender Diversity Resource Center (SGDRC).
2.      Fall Festival (Carnival) for the GLBTQ Center on North Main, on October 28, 2012.
3.      Working out on how to get required Community Service Hours for being a member of Stonewall QSA.
a.       Possible Soup Kitchen.
4.      Creating Change Conference (ASNMSU will pay up to 49%)
a.       Possibly getting a group together to show presentations.
b.      Connect with other Universities.
c.       Connect with other Organizations.  
5.      One Student Day
a.       Awareness for Domestic Abuse and other things.
b.      11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the I-Mall.
6.      Vagina Monologues.

IV.             Old Business:
1.      Keep State Great attendance was poor, but thank you to everyone to came.
2.      Gay Jeopardy was a success, and thanks to Housing for co-sponsoring the event.
3.      Day of the Dead, meet with Jeanette.
V.                New Business:
1.      Trans Remembrance Day November 20, 2012.
a.       A Candle Light Vigil on November 15, 2012 since the 20th is on break.
b.      During Fall Break (Thanksgiving Week).
2.      Sex Health Awareness Month (February 2013).
a.       Female Orgasm
b.      Fetishes
c.       AIDS Awareness
d.      General Information over all the letters (meaning i.e. GLBTQI) in the “Queer” Community.
e.       Domestic Abuse among same sex relationships.
f.       Speakers (If you have someone who would like to speak at the event, speak to Lois.
g.      More information when available.
3.      Homecoming Committee Update.
a.       We have a loaned vehicle.
b.      Everything will be put together Friday evening
c.       Preparation for possible discrimination from the community.
d.      Full schedule will be posted on Active Members and on the main Facebook Page.
e.        Members participating must be there at 7:00 AM at Parking Lot 30 East of the PAN-AM.
f.       Parade starts a few hours after.
4.      Mean Girls (on hold until next semester).
a.       No Education Wavier.
b.      Going to aim for next semester.
c.       Cost $200 plus an additional $20 for prizes.
d.      PR person to create advertising.
5.      Vote for Homecoming King and Queen, Link is on the NMSU Website, and also on Canvas.
