Club Meeting

September 19, 2012

I.                   Meeting called to order: 5:08 PM by President Luis Loya.

II.                Officer Reports: None.

III.             Speaker: Speaker from the Counseling Center

1.      Garcia Annex RM 100.

2.      Individual services, couple services, family services, and consultations.

3.      Career Exploration Center RM 132.

4.      GLBTQ Support Group held at the Health Center Thursdays from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

IV.             Interesting Information:

1.      Chick-fil-A drops funding Anti-Gay Groups.

2.      Interested in joining the Feminist group? Talk to Rose.

a.       Group meetings are held at 7:00 PM (Facebook listing will be posted for exact times and days).

3.      Invisible War (Movie Showing)

a.       Corbett Ballrooms Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 5:00 PM.

4.      Pagan Student Union (PSU) Freaky Friday Event Friday, September 21, 2012.

a.       Location: Corbett Center.

5.      Swing Dancing

a.       Rentfrow Gym (Ask Jackie for times).

V.                Business:

A: Old Business:

1.      Talk to Angie if interested in joining the Transgender group

a.       You don’t have to be Transgender to join.

2.      Mean Girls showing in the second week of November (Pending approval by Housing).

a.       Stonewall is to raise half the money to pay for half the cost of showing the movie.

b.      Pre-movie quiz (Members of Stonewall QSA make questions, give them to Luis).

3.      National Coming Out Day (October 11^th).

a.       October 10^th after the meeting, arts and crafts to make flags.

4.      National Coming Out Day Sedxo

a.       Providing food.

b.      Signup sheet for Coming Out Stories, if interested in telling your story, sign up!

5.      Halloween Howl

a.       Information pending on the event.

6.      Drag Pageant September 28^th.

a.       East Mesa Campus DACC.

b.      $5 tickets.

B: New Business:

1.      Banner IDs and Emails required from members for re-chartering the club.

2.      White Sands Trip.

a.       Dates pending but the idea is somewhere around November.

b.      Car pool.

3.      Fundraising: Bake Sale next Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

a.       Baking party at Emily’s (Talk to her for directions) 5:00 PM or 6:00 PM ending around 10:00 PM.

i.                    Bring baking pans.

4.      Dia De Los Muertos Alter.

a.       Talk to Jeanette if interested in helping.
